Dorothy A. Gould, 79, of Cold Hill Road in Lyndonville, Vt. passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
On January 15, 1939 in New Haven, Ct., Dorothy was born to Roy and Dorothy (Boydon) Hilton. She was raised and educated in West Haven graduating from West Haven High School, Class of 1957, and then attended Stone Business College. Dorothy married William E. Gould on August 27, 1964 and moved to Vermont to start a new adventure. Dorothy worked as an LNA at Riverside Life Enrichment. She enjoyed going to work every day and loved the people she cared for and those she worked with.
Dorothy was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lyndonville. She enjoyed having a garden, decorating cakes, sewing, knitting, playing cards, board games, and puzzles. Dorothy especially loved cooking and canning. She liked her ducks, chickens, cats, and dogs. She loved taking care of people especially her children and grandchildren. She was always there for them no matter the situation. Dorothy liked trips Cape Cod and Virginia Beach. Everything Dorothy did she enjoyed – she enjoyed life.
Survivors include Dorothy’s husband of 54 years: William E. Gould of Lyndonville, VT; 2 daughters: Diane Kittredge and husband, Richard, of Lyndonville, and Donna Gould of Lyndonville; 2 step-children: Ronald Gould Sr. and Michelle Guerette; a brother-in-law: Richard Lewis; 3 sisters-in-law: Mary DellaCamera, Helen White, and Alice Simpson; 10 grandchildren: Kristy Easterbrooks, Nicole Kittredge, Rick Kittredge, Jon Kittredge, Michael Davis, William MacDougall, Ronald Gould Jr., Tiffany Flannigan, Brittany Gould, and Nicole Gould; 12 great-grandchildren: Robert Easterbrooks, Jacob Brill, Matthew Davis, Aubrey MacDougall, Ariel Kittredge, Caiden Kittredge, Kaleigh Kittredge, RJ Kittredge, CJ Kittredge, Malia Crabtree, Amanda Guerette, Patrick Guerette and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents: Roy and Dorothy Hilton; parents-in-law: George and Mary Gould; a step-son: William Gould, Jr.; and a sister-in-law: Ruth Lewis.
At Dorothy’s request there will be no services.
