Doris Winot

Doris Mary Winot, age 93, of Pearl Street, died peacefully at her home with her family around her on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Doris was born in Claremont, NH, on April 5, 1931, the youngest child of 9 to the late William and Leah Ouellette. She grew up in Claremont. She married Theodore “Ted” Winot on September 4, 1948, sharing almost 56 years at the time of his passing in 2004. They moved to St. Johnsbury in the early sixties. Doris was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mother. She enjoyed bingo and bowling, making many lasting friendships and memories. She loved taking care of her grandchildren anytime and was always there when you needed her.

She is survived by her 4 daughters: Debra Priest of St. Johnsbury, Sallie Lewis of Waterford, VT, Bobbie Utley of Lyndonville, VT, and Darcie Brill (David) of St. Johnsbury; her grandchildren and their families: Jon Winot (Darcy), Kara Smith (Dan), Michael Priest (Carrie), Lydia Norway (Jeff), Mathew Lewis (Becca), Marie Blodgett (Neil), Tim Tanner (Virginia), Dan Tanner (Heather), Jessica Caron (Nate), Bethany Stevens (Jeff), and Sadie Brill (James); 24+ great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Doris is predeceased by 7 brothers: Alfred, Bernie, Leonard, Ernest, Joe, Eddie, and Bobby; 1 sister: Ester Mills; her son: Bruce Winot in 2002: and her sons-in-law: Fred Priest in 2005 and Wayne Lewis in 2021.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Monday March 24, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Winter Street in St. Johnsbury, with Fr. Lance Harlow officiating.

There will be no Calling Hours. Burial will be private at the Grove Cemetery in East St. Johnsbury, VT in the Spring.
