Walden, VT: It is with great sorrow the family of Doris Rivard (aka "MRS. MOE") announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother on Tuesday morning, October 22, 2024, in Walden, VT.
She was peacefully called to her heavenly home surrounded by the love of her family after a short illness.
Doris was born in Montreal, Canada, on May 5, 1946, daughter to the late Gerard and Anita (Maynard) Maynard.
She was greatly involved in the Corpus Christi Parish and will be remembered for her love of the Lord.
In her younger years she took great pride in being a mother to her two girls, cooking delicious meals for her family, driving school bus in Massachusetts and cleaning houses.
In recent years, she and her husband enjoyed being a part of civil war reenactments, being members of the Corvette Club of VT, and being members and camping with the FMCA.
She had a smile that could light up a room and all of our lives will be much dimmer without it!
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Maurice ("Moe") Rivard, their two daughters Melanie Keenan (Justin Keenan), Julie Demers (Craig Demers), and her three beautiful grandchildren who she adored, Cole Keenan and Hailey and Hannah Demers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, in Danville, VT, with Rev. Fr. Lance Harlow as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in St. Johnsbury.
There will be no calling hours at this time.
Her family extends their deepest thanks and appreciation to the Caledonia Home Health Care and Hospice team for the impeccable care they gave to her during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Good Shepherd Catholic School, 121 Maple Street, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.
