Donald E. Salls, 73, of Lyndonville passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his home with his family at his side.
Donald was born in Sheldon, VT on April 13, 1946 to the late Raymond and Mary (Gamble) Salls. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Trade School in 1966. Donald played the guitar for over 50 years and was in the White Rose Band. Playing the guitar was a passion he carried right up until a few days before he died when he played his last time. He taught many people how to play the guitar. He enjoyed dancing, playing sports, hunting, fishing, and cards and was a follower of the Red Sox. He loved everyone’s family pets. Donald worked at VT Tap and Die as a materials clerk for over 39 years at retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Susan (Bedor) Salls; his children, Melinda (Salls) Blackstock and husband Brian of Delaware, MD, Mike Salls, Mitchell Salls and John Salls all of AZ; his step children, Mary Lou Lamont of Lyndonville, Tammy Jocoby and husband Richard of Michigan, Bobby Tanner and wife Brenda of Sutton, Bill Tanner and companion April Lamothe of Sheffield, Magon (Tanner) Lindgren and husband Nate of Kirby, TJ Tanner of Lyndonville, Amanda Sanville and husband Mark of Sheffield, Crystal Wilkins and husband Dana of Sheffield and Brian Bedor and wife Charlene of Claremont, FL; his brothers, Benjamin Salls of Marshfield, Raymond Salls Jr. and wife Sharon of Hardwick; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Donald was predeceased by his wife Amy (Reed-Tanner) Salls, a son, Jamie Salls and a brother, Reginald Salls.
A Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:00am in the Cabot Village Cemetery with John Sleeper officiating. There will be no calling hours.
