Donald A. Sabens, Jr., age 60, of West Burke passed away at his home Wednesday night, December 27, 2017, surrounded by his family, after a courageous 10 year battle with renal failure. Donny faced death with courage, strength and concern for those he left behind.
Donny was born in New Brunswick, NJ, on August 12, 1957, son to the late Donald A. Sr. and Grace (Blodgett) Sabens. He was raised and educated in Randolph, VT.
The past five years Donny enjoyed his time spent with the guys at Easy Auto. This gave him the opportunity to rebuild a ’68 Mustang, fulfilling his dream.
Donny loved vintage hot rods, and collected vintage die-cast model cars, enjoyed NASCAR, and taking trips to the casino with his sisters.
Donny’s greatest loves were his grand children and his favorite past-time with them was movie theaters, parks and taking them for rides. Most memorable is the yearly family trips to Santa’s Village.
Donny will always be fondly remembered for his love and devotion to his mother.
He is survived by 3 sons: Donald A. Sabens, III of W. Burke, Anthony Sabens and Joshua Sabens both of Newport, VT, his 5 siblings: Diana Carriere and husband, Douglas, of St. Johnsbury, Linda Black of St. Johnsbury, Deborah Baldwin of Port Charlotte, FL, Kevin Sabens and wife, Sharon, of St. Johnsbury, Pamela Brink and husband, Alan, of Lyndonville, 5 grandchildren: Tynisha, Cameron, Corbin, Mikiaha and Raven and many nieces and nephews.
