Donald Ora "Rocky" Larocque, III, age 69, of Bear Hollow in Lyndonville, VT, died from an apparent heart attack at his home, Saturday evening, December 19, 2015.
Donald was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on September 4, 1946 son to the late Donald O. Jr. and Mona (Stetson) Larocque. He was raised and educated in Burlington graduating from Burlington High School in the Class of 1966. Rocky was an Army Veteran in the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Germany for two years. He worked on many construction projects throughout the Northeastern states and later moved to St. Johnsbury where he met Doreen Ruth (Fenoff); they were married for 28 years until her passing in 2004. Rocky moved to Lyndonville in 1986, was employed at Winterset and has been with the Town of St. Johnsbury as a diesel mechanic for over 15 years until retiring in 2014. Rocky loved everything outdoors from golf to hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son: Toby Larocque and wife, Sarah, of Milton, VT, 2 daughters: Tracy Dorey and husband, Jeff, of Saratoga, NY, Tammy Larocque and family of St. Albans, VT, 2 step-sons: Thomas (Donna) Villeneuve of Waterford, VT, Terry Jones of Michigan, a brother: Richard Larocque of Vermont, a sister: Melody Larocque of New Hampshire, his uncles: Leigh Larocque and family and Dale Kendall of Barnett, his best friend: Shawn (Terry) Stevens of St. Johnsbury, 6 grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by a sister Patricia (Larocque) Weston and many close aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call on the family from 2-4PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at the Guibord Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville, VT.
