Waterford, VT: Donald H. Batchelder, of High Ridge Road, passed at his home peacefully, Wednesday morning, September 20, 2017, with his beloved Gladys by his side.
Donald was born on June 22, 1937, in Lancaster, NH. He graduated from the St. Johnsbury Trade School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and pitching horseshoes.
Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gladys, of Waterford, 3 children: Karen Batchelder and husband, Phillip DeWitt of St. J. Center, Lynn Franko and her husband, Keith, of South Wheelock, Craig Batchelder and his wife, Nicole, of Erie, CO, his brother-in-law: Harry John of Lyndonville, 8 grandchildren: Benjamin, Brittany, Zachary, Rebecca & Phillip DeWitt, Olivia & Jonathan Franko and Jack Batchelder, 7 great-grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11am On Saturday, September 23, 2017, at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery on St. Johns Street in St. Johnsbury. Military Honors will be observed.
Mr. Batchelder's family, friends and neighbors – all are welcome – to join in a celebration of his life following the interment.
