Denise Lebrecque

Denise Monique Labrecque, age 82, of Broad Street, passed away peacefully at son’s home in Springfield, VT, Thursday, August 4, 2016.

Denise was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, on April 1, 1934, daughter to the late Jean and Adeline (Villemaire) Lecours.  She was raised and educated in Sherbrooke.  Denise married Rene Edouard Labrecque and shared 50 years together at the time of his passing on October 11, 2004.  Denise worked at clothing stores in Sherbrooke when she was first married, was a homemaker, and worked as a cashier at Grand Union in St. Johnsbury for several years.  She and Rene were antique car enthusiasts, went to many antique flea markets and car shows. Past-time hobbies were puzzles, sewing, travelling and bingo.  Denise was very loved by family members and many friends and acquaintances.  She will surely be missed by all of these people, especially me. I love you, Mom!

Denise is survived by her only son, Richard R. Labrecque and his wife, Robin, of Springfield, VT, 2 brothers: Claude Lecours and his wife, Rejeanne, of Sherbrooke, Gilles Lecours and his wife, Denise, also of Sherbrooke, a sister Suzeanne Bouchard and her husband, Claude, of Sherbrooke, 5 grandchildren: Danielle Keilman, James Murphy, Justin Labrecque, Kyle Polczynski, Nicole Sargent, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rene, 2 grandchildren: Nicole Labrecque and Travis Murphy.

Friends may call on the family from 5-7PM on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Guibord Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville, VT.

Burial will take place at 11AM on Monday, August 15. 2016, St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery in Lyndonville with Rev. Bernard Gaudreau.
