Denise Caron

Denise Angel Caron (Dussault), 76 of Old Center Road in St. Johnsbury, Vt. passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 29, 2016 from a brain aneurysm.

Denise was born in Newport, Vt. on January 14, 1940, the daughter of Albert and Noella (Corriveau) Dussault.  She graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1959, and then worked as a telephone operator.

She married Roland (Pete) Caron on June 3, 1961; they recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.  Denise worked for 31 ½ years at Ben Franklin/Uniquity Store in St. Johnsbury. She was very fond of the years she spent at the store and talked often of the memories and friends she made there. She enjoyed taking long walks around town and was known for walking on Main Street daily.

Denise was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church, where she was an active member as a greeter, collector, helping with funeral meals and the annual Christmas Bazaar. For many years she looked forward to making the bows for the Christmas wreaths.

She was predeceased by her parents, Albert in 1985, Noella in 2012 and her brother-in-law, Normand Caron in 2015.

She is survived by her husband, Pete and two daughters; Diane Caron and Suzanne Mudge and son-in-law George, all of St. Johnsbury, Vt., grandchildren, Jacob Mudge of St. Johnsbury, Vt., Deborah Boyle and her husband Jason of Danville, Vt., and two great-grandchildren, Shelby and David, whom were the apples of her eye.

She is also survived by her five brothers, Andrew Dussault (Gertrude), Robert Dussault (Karlene) of St. Johnsbury, Paul Dussault (Janice) of Lyndonville, Clement Dussault (Judy) of Maryland, Eugene Dussault (Toni) of Waterford, Vt. Denise is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins, who were very special to her.

She will be missed by everyone that knew her. She was a very special lady who touched so many hearts.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Bernard Gaudreau on Thursday, September 1, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, Main Street, St. Johnsbury, Vt. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Denise’s memory to Good Shepherd Catholic School, 121 Maple Street, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819
