David Guy Rainey

David Guy Rainey, age 73, of 380 Hill Street in Lyndonville, VT passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

David was born on July 29, 1950, in Lyndon, VT to Guy and Mary (Davis) Rainey.  He graduated from Lyndon Institute.  In September of 1974, David married Cynthia Bailey and shared 49 years with her. He worked as a Dairy Farmer all his life. 

Maple sugaring was a huge part of David’s life.  He also enjoyed carpentry, reading, and collecting die cast tractors and cars.  His beagles held a special place in his heart. David was a member of the Calvary Chapel Church in Lyndonville, VT.

Survivors include his wife: Cindy Rainey of Lyndonville; two children: Jeremy Rainey and wife Sarah of Tennessee, and Jennifer Kennedy of Lyndonville; a sister: Elaine Johnson and husband Donald of Connecticut; 3 grandchildren, and 2 very special family members Aaron and Ashley.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 1:00PM at Lyndon Center Cemetery in Lyndon, VT. There will be a gathering at the Rainey home after the service.

Memorial donations can be made in David’s name to a Parkinson’s charity or humane society of your choice.
