Daniel P. Poulin

January 3, 1965 - July 8,2024

Daniel P. Poulin, 59, of Kirby, Vermont passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2024, at his home with his faithful companion, Babydog, by his side. Daniel was known to be a shy, gentle, and kind soul.

Daniel was born on January 3, 1965, in St. Johnsbury, VT, to Marc and Mariette (Bolduc) Poulin.

While Daniel was in high school, he was a highly gifted athlete. He excelled in basketball, baseball, soccer, and golf. After graduation, he continued to pursue his athletic abilities while coaching his kids at Waterford Elementary School. 

Daniel was also a thrill seeker, racing snowmobiles, jet skis, and four wheelers. He enjoyed the rush of competition. 

Once Daniel was old enough to work, he joined the family logging business owned by his father. When his dad retired, Daniel and his brother, Michael, started Poulin Brothers Logging. Following that successful partnership, Daniel had a vision of pursuing something different in his future. He approached his father with the idea of turning his open land into a nine-hole golf course. That dream ultimately turned into reality when the Kirby Family Golf Course was born. 

Daniel is survived by his children: Marc Poulin and his daughter Wren, Christa (Randall) Rabon, Jessica Poulin and Maxwell Poulin; his siblings: Richard (Lynn) Poulin, Lucie Poulin, Linda (Paul) Entriken, and Carol (Leon) Perreault.

He is predeceased by his father, Marc, his mother, Mariette, and brother, Michael.

A graveside service will be held August 23, 2024, at 1 PM at Mount Calvary Cemetery. This will be followed by a gathering at the St. Johnsbury Elks Club at 3:00 PM.
