Cynthia Mason

Cynthia Della Mason, 59, of Newport and St. Johnsbury, VT, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018, at her home.

Cynthia was born in Hardwick, VT on August 20, 1958, daughter to Welcome Raymond and Pauline (Emerson) DeGreenia.  She was raised in North Troy and graduated from North Country High School, Class of 1976.  She worked as a Nurses’ Aide at Belair Nursing Home.

Cynthia loved her cats. She liked puzzles, cookouts, watching wrestling, fireworks and country music. She also liked going to the Caledonia County Fair.  Cynthia enjoyed spending time with her children and family and especially with her grandchildren.

Cynthia is survived by her children, sons: Terry R. Mason of Lincoln, NH, and Welcome E. Mason and wife, Melissa, of St. Johnsbury, VT; daughter: Megan E. Mason of St. Johnsbury, VT; her boyfriend: Gene Fredricks of St. Johnsbury;  brothers: Welcome R. Degreenia, Jr. and Paul L. Harpin, both of St. Johnsbury; a foster sister: Donna Sherlow of Morrisville, VT; two grandchildren: Layla M. Mason and Jasmine M. Mason; nieces: Sabrina Barry, Maggie Corkins, and Tiffany Glodett.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Visiting hours will be Friday, March 30, 2018, 4-6PM, at Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St. Johnsbury, VT. A funeral service officiated by John Sleeper will immediately follow.

Burial will be held at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in St. Johnsbury, VT.
