Curtis Temple

October 10, 1925 — August 4, 2017

On Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 Curtis O. Temple, 91, of Concord, VT went home to be with his mom and dad after battling Alzheimer's for several years.

Born in Milton, Massachusetts on Oct. 10, 1925, his parents were the late Fred and Dorothy (Horn) Temple. He left high school and joined the Merchant Marines during WWII, where he sustained a severe injury onboard ship.

After his service he moved to Jefferson, New Hampshire where he lived for many years.  He was active in the snowmobile club and helped maintain the trails. He met his wife Jean and, in 1989, they established their home in Concord.  Before his retirement he held various jobs as a carpenter and logger.  He raised Labrador retrievers and his dog Shadow was always by his side.

Along with his wife Jean, they started an herbal soap business, which included international trade and a loyal local following.

He is survived by his wife Jean Temple of Concord; two nieces and their families: Kathryn Cross and husband Roger Macdonald, and Karen Cross; Jean’s four children and their families: Penny Benzon and husband Mike, Wendy Harrell and husband Rob, Thomas Schaffer and wife Lauren, Natalie Garner and partner Chris Rearick. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Cross.
