Cody Mitchell

Cody Davis Mitchell, 33, of Lyndonville passed away unexpectedly following a recent illness on Friday November 15,2024, at his home in Lyndonville.

He was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on September 4, 1991. Cody leaves behind his devoted father and mother, Carrol Mitchell Jr. and Stephanie (Taylor) Mitchell, sister and brother-in law, Mandy (Mitchell) Chapman and Travis Chapman, sister and brother-in law, Nichol (Mitchell) Solomon and Jackson Solomon, nephews, Quinn, Cullen and Cormac Chapman, and Brooks Solomon, paternal grandparents, Carrol Mitchell Sr. and Brenda Mitchell, maternal grandparents, Stephen Taylor and Judy Taylor, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and beloved friend, Dylan Goodwin. He was predeceased by his cousin: Michele Shufelt

Known to many as the life of the party, Cody was a bright light in this community, who was willing to help anyone in need. Those of us who were privileged to be loved by and love him will always remember his big heart, and the way he lived his life by the brotherhood. An absolute animal on the LI football field as a famed boy of fall and an enforcer on the ice, Cody was a guy you wanted in your corner and on your team. Cody was a champion of the underdog, and always favored those who had the odds stacked against them. Because he knew pain and struggle, he rarely judged and was always eager to help those in need, no matter the circumstance. Cody loved spending time with his nephews, training them for success both on the football field and in life, they were his greatest joy and brought a deep sense of pride.

Cody played an integral role at C&M Car Crushing, working with his grandfather and father. He had a work ethic to be admired, rivaled only by his deep sense of family which extended beyond the traditional sense of the word. There are countless friends, teammates, and mentors who Cody considered a part of his clan, the Mitchell family grew in size because of him. He was smart and quick-witted; something that will be deeply missed by his people. This tremendous loss will be felt for years to come.

In classic Cody fashion, he would wish for everyone to remember him with a smile instead of a tear, to show continued kindness, love, and support to one another, and to always remember “clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.”

Friends may call on the family from 5-7PM Friday evening, November 22, 2024, at the Guibord-Pearsons Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville.
