Clayton Mansel Stowell of Lyndonville, VT born June 14, 1928 passed away October 25, 2020. Born and raised in Lyndon, VT the 3rd child of Clayton Belser Stowell and Beatrice Wastson Stowell.
A combat infantryman during the Korean War, he served in the 3rd infantry Div., 15th Regimental Combat Team and later in the Air Force Reserve for 5 years.
He married Florence Cutting of Newark, VT August 14, 1953 who predeceased him December 17, 2016 after 63 years of marriage. They farmed on Pudding Hill in Lyndon, VT in their early years and spent 50 years in Coventry, VT.
He is survived by his three children, Michael (Joyce) Stowell of Shelburne, VT, David (Anne) Stowell of South Wheelock, VT, Diane (Dennis) LaBounty of Lyndonville, VT; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He had a passion for anything concerning horses and loved watching horse races. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and will be sorely missed.
There will be a private graveside service on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 1:00pm with the burial of Clayton and Florence together at the Lyndon Center Cemetery with the Rev. Clinton Brake officiating.
