Christine M. Lapierre, age 89, of Birchwood Heights Lane, Waterford, Vt., passed away at St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center, Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016.
Christine was born on April 10, 1926, in Marsboro, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Malcolm and Katherine (Murray) MacAskell. She attended schools in Marsboro, Quebec and worked at the Cask Co. in Scotstown, Que. In 1955 she married George E. Lapierre in Sherbrooke, Canada and in 1957 moved to St. Johnsbury, Vt. For many years she raised and showed Morgan Horses. Christine was a past member of the St. Johnsbury Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, George, of Waterford; her son, J. Buddy George Lapierre and his wife, Vera, of Barnet; her daughter, Linda Guers and her husband, Daniel, of Phoenix, Md.; five grandchildren: Joey, Aerik, Keith and Norissa Lapierre and Brian Guers; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Service will be held privately in the springtime at the St. J. Center Cemetery and there will be no public calling hours.
