Celia Zabrosky

Celia M. Zabrosky age 84, of St. Johnsbury, VT passed away on September 20, 2017, Celia was born on Aug. 21, 1933. She was the daughter of Alfred and Gertrude (Boisvert) Lamontagne.

Celia attended Portland St. School and St. Johnsbury Academy. She worked at Maple Grove Farms for 43 years and in 1993 retired as supervisor of the candy packing department.

Celia enjoyed babysitting for many families around St. Johnsbury along with knitting, gardening, doing puzzles and hosting yard sales. Celia resided at her home since 1945. In 1991 she married Joseph P. Zabrosky. They enjoyed traveling to many places including, Italy, Mexico, the Caribbean and Hawaiian Islands, and throughout the U.S. Some of the most memorable were the frequent visits to Boston, MA. Celia was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist of St. Johnsbury.

Surviving family are a sister Alice and husband Francis Goyette of St. Johnsbury, VT , sister in law Lorraine Lamontagne of Colchester, VT , nieces Carol Kennett and husband Kevin of Colchester, VT , Marie Wiese and husband Keith of Springfield, VT , Rita Goyette of Erievillle, NY, nephew Paul Lamontagne of Burlington, VT , grandniece Michelle Kennett and grandnephew Keith Kennett of Colchester, VT , Great grandnieces and nephew of Colchester, VT, step daughter Jayne Phelps and husband Keith of Passumpsic, VT, grandson Ethan Phelps and great granddaughter Alice of Stockbridge, VT, grandson Forrest Cesare and wife Dianna of Wolcott, CT , granddaughter Rebecca Washburn and great grandchildren Tyler and Alexa of Duluth, GA, cousins and friends.

Celia was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, a brother, Paul Lamontagne, and step daughter, Beth Ann Cesare.

Friends may call on the family from 1-3PM on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at the Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St. Johnsbury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Monday, October 2, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Church on Winter Street in St. Johnsbury with Fr. Bernard Gaudreau officiating.  Burial will follow immediately at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
