Cavell E. Hatcher of Waterford, Vt. passed away at home on August 8, 2017 with her loving daughter by her side. She was born in Fogo, Newfoundland (then under British Rule) to Harold and Doris (Thompson) Pomeroy on August 4, 1936.
Muzz, as she was affectionately known, was raised and educated in Newfoundland. She married Clarence Bundy in 1953. She loved becoming a U.S. Citizen and thought the process was just the “Cat’s Meow.” She was naturalized through Ellis Island and loved being here. That love of America extended strongly to its veterans. She grew and raised a lot of the family’s food including chickens, cows and pigs. Cavell worked as a nurse at Brightlook Hospital and later at NVRH in St. Johnsbury for over 30 years combined. She loved butterflies, flowers and gardening.
Muzz is survived by her children: Larry Bundy (Karen) of Sugarland, TX, Tony Bundy(Angie) of Decatur, AL, John Bundy(Kathryn) of Holly Springs, NC, and Brenda Bundy of St. Johnsbury as well as a step-son Gary Hatcher, of Lyndonville. Cavell also leaves behind brothers: Robert (Polly), James and Ed Pomeroy all of Canada; sisters: Geraldine Sampson (Ross) of Canada and Shirley Jameson of Ohio; 7 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her sister Phyllis Ferrier and her second husband, James Washington Hatcher.
A private graveside service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Waterford as per Cavell’s wishes.
There will be no calling hours.
