Carrie Cyrene (Williams) Bourtelle, 88, of Summer Street, formerly of Old Man Mountain Road, St. Johnsbury, Vt, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at her residence.
Carrie was born on November 24, 1929, at home in St. Johnsbury, Vt, to Austin and Celia (Adams) Williams. She was raised, educated, and lived her entire life in St. Johnsbury. On August 18, 1957, Carrie married Walter Bourtelle sharing a short 24 years with him until his death in 1981. Carrie worked as a prep cook at Farmboy Restaurant.
Carrie enjoyed NASCAR racing. She was a big Jeff Gordon fan. She also liked reading, walking at the mall, and playing cards with family.
She is survived by a brother: Cecil Williams of St. Johnsbury, VT; a niece: Diane Lamont and husband, Paul; a nephew: Francis Williams; 2 grandnieces: Amanda Fenoff and husband, Trent, and Bryana Williams; 2 grandnephews: Jamie Lamont and Dylan Williams; a great-grandniece: Madisyn Lamont; a great-grandnephew: Riley Fenoff; also, Tammy Williams, Joseph Johnson and members of the Bourtelle family.
Carrie was predeceased by her parents: Austin and Celia Williams; a brother: Roger Williams; nephew: Kevin Williams; and niece: Dawna (Williams) Johnson.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, 10AM-12N, at Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St. Johnsbury, VT, in conjunction with that of her niece, Dawna (Williams) Johnson who passed away in December 2017. Family and friends are invited to share memories and stories beginning at 11AM.
Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
