Carl J. Anderson, a kind and gentle soul passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025. He was days away from his 93rd birthday.
He was born March 22, 1932, in Norwich Connecticut to Carl and Lena Anderson. Carl was the devoted and loving husband to the late Elsie May Anderson. They were married for sixty-eight years. Their life together was filled with much joy and sunshine.
Carl and Elsie’s family includes four children. Linda and Mark Paddock (Massachusetts), Dawn and Ted Almon (Florida and Rhode Island), Carl (CJ) and Lea Anderson (Lyndonville) and Eric and Heidi Anderson (Rhode Island). They were blessed with six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
After their marriage, Carl and Elsie moved to Lyndon as Carl went to Lyndon Teachers College and earned his bachelor’s degree. Later, he also earned a master’s degree from Plymouth State College. His career began as Principal and 8th grade teacher at Lyndonville Graded School. This career lasted for 30 years and his legacy will live on with countless students he supported and championed. In his younger days, he was a member of the Lyndonville Fire Department, United Methodist Church, Jaycees and Masons.
Carl and Elsie shared a wonderful life of love and joy in simple things. From feeding birds on their back deck to planning the yearly gardens and window boxes, they embraced life’s small pleasures. They spent every summer at their beloved camp at Newark Pond. Carl also loved tinkering in his workshop, a hobby that brought him satisfaction and creativity.
His heart was full of love for his family and friends and his spirit was vibrant even in his later years.
At this time, the family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Morrison Nursing Home staff for the excellent and compassionate care throughout Carl and Elsie’s stay. Their unfailing kindness makes the Morrison a truly special place.
