Bonnie Corey

Bonnie May (Bigelow) Corey of Danville, VT, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side Thursday, April 27th, at home after a long illness.

Bonnie was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on July 20, 1951, daughter to Walter and Avis (Labounty) Bigelow. She spent her life in Danville attending Danville School. She worked many years at Connors footwear in Lisbon, NH. On November 27, 1971, Bonnie married Albert “Mike” Corey and they shared 30 years together until Mike’s death in September of 2000.

Bonnie enjoyed her three grandchildren. Always keeping track of Emma and all the sports she plays; supporting Zoe with her dancing and soccer. Kasen, her only grandson, spent a lot of time in Gram’s room playing with race cars and talking about racing. Gram loved it. Bonnie loved her trips to Las Vegas with family and friends. She also enjoyed all her time spent at the family camp, playing horseshoes and always the cook for Sunday morning breakfast. Bonnie attended Fryeburg Fair for many years. She really enjoyed betting on the horse racing and playing the dice.

Bonnie is survived by a son: Scott Corey of  Danville; a daughter: Lisa Hodgdon and husband, Stephen, of Danville; three grandchildren: Emma Corey of Barnet, VT, and Zoe Corey and Kasen Corey-Hodgdon of Danville; four brothers: Walter Bigelow, Jr. and wife, Davine, of Danville, David Bigelow and wife, Becky, of Danville, Paul Bigelow and wife, Diane, of Sanford, NC, and Robert Bigelow and wife, Carolyn, of Passumpsic, VT; a brother-in-law: Timmy Corey and wife, Bobbi, of Littleton, NH; seven sisters-in-law: Glenna Labounty of North Concord, VT, Brenda Sargent of Waterford, VT, Peggy Plante and husband, Albert, of Bethlehem, NH, Sharon Bennett and husband, Randy, of Littleton, NH, Carol Bushway and husband, Raymond, of Danville, Joanne Forde of Pembroke, NH, and Justine Makay of Florida; her mother-in-law: Gwen Corey of Littleton, NH; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband: Albert “Mike” Corey; a special sister: Caroline Kittredge; and two brothers: Donnie Bigelow and Roland Labounty.

Services, officiated by Bob Sargent, will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00am at the Danville United Methodist Church. Burial will immediately follow at Danville Green Cemetery.
