Betty Jean Ely, 82, of Lyndonville died Monday morning, June 6, 2016 . She had resided at The Pines in Lyndonville for the past year and a half.
She was born on October 29, 1933 in Lyndonville, the daughter of Murray and Helen (Ducham) Learmouth.
Betty Jean enjoyed knitting, making clothes for dolls and her family and friends.
She is survived by three children: son Brian Ely and wife Cindy of East Haven, son Gary Ely and Val Lund of East Burke; daughter Linda Newland and husband Brian of East Burke; a sister Muriel Emma and her husband Robert Heon of Springfield, Mass.; seven grandchildren: Brian’s two daughters Heather Ely and Jessie Lund, Gary two sons Jeremy and Greg Ely, Linda’s three children Tricia, Phillip, and Evan Newland.; great-grandchildren Chase, Gracie, and Jase; Luke and Natalie, Shelby and Whitney; Holden and Grant, Sawyer and Able; and a nephew Robert Heon, Jr. of Florida
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a stillborn daughter, Barbara Jean, an infant great-granddaughter Prezley Louise Newland, and an infant brother James Learmouth.
Visiting hours will be held at the Guibord Funeral Home this Thursday, June 9, from 6-8 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Lyndonville this Friday, June 10, at the St. Elizabeth Church with Fr. Christopher Micale, celebrant.
