Arnold Littel

Arnold Littel of St. Johnsbury passed away at home Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the age of 89.

He was born in Barton on Feb. 21, 1927, the son of Clyde and Madge (Kelley) Littel.  He was predeceased by his wife Reba (Norcross) in 1996, his son Dennis in 2010, and by an infant son Ronald, and three brothers Roscoe, Ernest and Ronald.

Arnold worked at Lyndonville Creamery where he met his future wife, Reba Norcross.  They married June 22, 1946 and had five children.

Arnold worked for several years as a local oil deliveryman; he always had a smile and loved to make people smile and laugh with him.  He enjoyed watching his grandkids’ sports and traveling.  The family will forever remember his love of eating corn on the cob with either King crab or lobster, his repetitive jokes, and flirting with the nurses!

He is survived by three children: Dianne Warren and husband Tom of St. Johnsbury, Marcia Littel and Don Hayes St. Johnsbury, Marvin Littel and wife Carmen of Manchester, Maine; daughter-in-law Janet Littel of St. Johnsbury; eight grandchildren: Corey, Sheryl, Donika, Eric, Katie, Casey, Jaden, and Ryan; and ten great-grandkids; Reba’s two surviving sisters Constance Goodwin and Ethel Crane; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in Lyndonville this Thursday, June 30, at 2 p.m. at the Guibord Funeral Home with the Rev. Judy Kennedy officiating.  Burial will follow at the Lyndon Center Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Guibord Funeral Home from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to the start of the service.
