Ann Azur

St. Johnsbury - Ann Marie Azur, formerly of Montpelier, passed away on January 14, 2017 in St. Johnsbury surrounded by family.

Ann was born in Newport, VT on September 25, 1937, the daughter of Thomas J.
And Nellie (Handy) Azur. Ann, with her brother and sister, moved to St. Johnsbury in 2013 to be closer to their family. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish.  Ann worked for National Life Insurance Company in Montpelier and enjoyed her many years there. Ann very much enjoyed vacationing with her family, especially our annual trip to Old Orchard Beach, Maine with her sisters, brother, nieces and nephews. Those who knew Ann would say she was the sweetest, happiest, and most hospitable person one could ever meet. She will be sadly missed.

Survivors include her brother-in-law, Gerald Willey; nieces Roseanna and husband Stephen Bennet, Denise and husband Bruce Whitehead, Michelle and husband Doug Urie; nephews, Tony Willey and wife Judith, Chris Willey and wife Kilee, and Schyler Azur - all of whom were more like her children; 16 great nieces and newphews; 17 great-great nieces and newphews.

She was predeceased by her parents; sisters: Patricia Azur and Nancy Willey; and brothers: Phillip and Thomas Azur.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on January 18th at St. John the Evangelist Church on Winter Street, St. Johnsbury, VT with Fr. Curtis Miller as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Spring at St. Augustine's Cemetery in Montpelier, VT.

Friends may call on the family from 6-8PM on Tuesday, January 17th at the Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St. Johnsbury.
