Amy Ruggles

Amy Lee Ruggles, age 50, of Pinehurst Street in Lyndonville, VT, passed away at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital on Thursday, February 22, 2018.

Amy was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on September 18, 1967, daughter to Robert Charles and Claudette Jean (Theriault) Ruggles.  She was raised in Lyndonville, VT, and attended local schools graduating from Lyndon Institute Class of 1985 and Lyndon State College with her LPN.  She worked construction, as a floor manager at WalMart, and ran the housekeeping department at Burke Mountain.

Amy was very creative. She enjoyed crafts and made several Halloween costumes over the years. She also enjoyed baking and decorating cakes which she did very well.  She was very good with children and those with disabilities. She loved cooking and cleaning and might have been something of a ‘neat freak’.  She also enjoyed gardening, writing, listening to music, being outside, and playing field hockey.  She enjoyed doing word search books and reading.  Her biggest hobby, however, was her daughter, Kylee.

She is survived by her daughter: Kylee Leone of Lyndonville, VT; 2 sisters: Deborah Lee and husband, David, of Lyndon, VT, and Alice Kinney and husband, Richard, of Lyndonville; 3 sisters-in-law: Debbie Ruggles and Annie Schultz of Lyndon, and Tammy Thorpe of Lyndonville; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is predeceased by her parents: Robert and Claudette Ruggles; and 3 brothers: Charles E. Ruggles, II, Michael T. Ruggles, and Gerard F. Ruggles.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28, 2018, 6-8pm at Guibord Funeral Home, 15 Main Street in Lyndonville, VT.

Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Rick Menard, will be Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 11am at New Beginnings Christian Church, 72 Moose River Drive in St. Johnsbury, VT, with reception to follow immediately. Parking is at Fairbanks Scales parking lot across from Riley’s Fish Shack with shuttle service to the church.

Burial will be in the spring at Lyndon Center Cemetery.
