Allan Gaylor

September 16, 1927 — January 14, 2017

Allan Stephen Gaylor, age 89, passed away at his home in Wheelock, VT, on Saturday, January 14, 2017, surrounded by his beloved family.

Allan was born on September 16, 1927, in Fulford Quebec Canada, son to the late Percy L. and Nancy (Hamilton) Gaylor.  He was married the former Margaret Marie Bocash for over 50 years.  He lived in Lyndonville before moving to Wheelock in 1955 and served in the Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Allan worked in maintenance for 42 years with the Canadian Pacific Railroad, was a member of the Lyndonville VFW Post # 10038, American Legion Post #30, an avid hockey fan and youth hockey fan, especially for his great-grandson.  He also enjoyed skiing, football, baseball, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his son: Michael Gaylor and his wife, Lorna, of Barton, VT, his daughter: Allana Clark and her husband, Robert, of Waterford, VT, 2 sisters: June Call of Monroe, NH, Margaret Estes of Milton, VT, 7 grandchildren: David Brisson(Bridget), Stacey Randall (Todd), Dan Brisson, Michelle Greenwood (Ryan), Erikka Clark (Loi), Lisa Gaylor (Bill), Cory Lorimer and 8 great-grandchildren.

Allan was predeceased his 3 sons: Allan “Stephen” Gaylor, Jr in 1983, Randolph “Randy” Gaylor in 1979, David Gaylor in 1971, and his brother: James Gaylor.

A Private family interment will take place at the Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Wheelock in the springtime.  There will be no Calling Hours at Allan’s request.
